HISS Studio strives to provide the best experience for our clients and students through exceptional customer service and class programs. We are always looking for new ways to help our students learn more and get more out of their sewing. Here are a few basics about HISS you should know for the best possible experience with our staff and classes.
We currently do not structure our classes for children under the age of 14. We do teach teens between the ages of 14-18, but we request a parent/guardian present during class and HISS needs to be notified that you are registering a young adult. When you register your student, you waive the responsibility of HISS Studio, fellow students, and the hosting space for any injuries your child may incur during the sewing process. Sewing is not a full-contact sport, however we do work with sharp objects, hot irons, and machines that move very quickly and can cause bodily harm, so parental attendance and understanding are a must.
HISS studio reserves the right to refuse service to anyone, though to date we haven't met anyone so obnoxious that we've needed to enforce this. But do know, if we refuse service, it for the best interests of both parties involved.
Once you purchase a class, you agree to our FAQ's and to not hold HISS Studio, the instructors, the office space, or other students liable if you injure yourself. Please be mindful of the tools you are using, and use at your own risk!
HISS Studio does not grant refunds for missed classes. Classes are non-refundable. If you need to miss a class due to a scheduling conflict, please contact the organizer at least 24 hours advance to reschedule. We will do our best to accommodate last minute emergencies, but please be respectful of the instructor's and fellow students' time and only reschedule when absolutely necessary. NO-SHOWS without prior contact before class for rescheduling WILL NOT BE RESCHEDULED and your ticket will not be repurposed.
If there is an emergency or an illness and a class or classes must be canceled by the HISS staff, students will be given the option for a refund or to reschedule the class. Students will be contacted as soon as possible if a class is canceled, however in the event of an emergency students may not be contacted until after class.
Gift certificates must be used within 90 days of receiving. We are a small business, and it is a great strain on our accounting and scheduling if certificates are not redeemed in a timely fashion. Thanks for your understanding.
